Significance of Dahi Handi
The celebration of DahiHandi, in which Gujarati and Maharashtrain are honoured at the main gate, is scheduled for the second day of Krishna Janmashtami, the day when Krishna first began to consume butter. We celebrate DahiHandi and whatever transpires or all the participants in it, we also Govinda. It is hanged at a very high height and afterwards a group of ladies or gentlemen is made and it is boiled in the same way.
