1) What do you understand by PNG and SVG images
Ans:- PNG stands for Portable Network Graphics . The PNG pictures looses their clarity as they are zoomed in whereas SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphics and does not loses its clarity even if they are zoomed in.
2) Write down the examples of Raster image editing and Vector image editing softwares
Ans:- GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is an example of Raster image editing software whereas Inkscape, Libre Office Draw, Karbon, Adobe llustrator, Coral Draw are some of the examples of Vector image editing softwares.
3) Write the difference between Raster images and Vector images.
Ans:- Raster image:- Raster images are constructed with the help of many colourful tiny squares (pixels) and by mentioning their size in the program. Raster images are Bitmap pictures like PNG or JPG. The image size can be defined on X axis and Y axis. GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is an example of Raster image editing software.
Vector image:- Vector images are constructed by defining the path between two points (start and end). Vector images are SVG pictures. The path could be part of any geometric shapes like straight line, square, triangle or curve. Inkscape, LibreOffice Draw, Karbon, Adobe llustrator, Coral Draw are some of the examples of Vector image editing softwares.
4) What is Bitmap image.
Ans:- The images on a compare formed by many colourful tiny squares (pixels) and by mentioning their size in the program. The image size can be defined on X axis and Y axis. The colour and size of each pixel will mentioned in the program. These are called Bitmap images.
5) Write a short note on Ink scape ?
Ans:- Ink scape is a free graphic editing software which is used for creating and editing svg images. It can import and edit bitmap images. It can also convert vector images into raster images.
6) Write the steps for grouping a picture ?
Ans:- The steps for grouping a picture are as followed :
i) Add any picture/shape like oval for a saucer.
ii) Click on Selection tool. Now point and drag the mouse in such a way that it covers the whole oval. (you can even select the different objects of the shape separately by pressing Shift key along with clicking the shape or picture separartely.
iii) Select the option Group from Object Menu.
iv) Save the picture with an extension of .svg.

1) Write down the steps to add a picture to the canvas
Ans :- The steps for adding a picture to the canvas are as follows :
i) Use the tool Create Circles to draw an Oval in the vertical direction.
ii) You can even give colours with light and shade
iii) Draw another circle and It is sufficient to remove a portion of the picture in order to get the appropriate shape of the picture.
iv) Select both
v) Now select Difference from the Path menu which help to remove the area that is common to both and first oval will get a shape of a cup.
vi) Draw a suitable oval and keep it at a proper place to draw the edge of the cup.
vii) Group the images
2) Explain the term Colour palette and Opacity
Ans :- Colour Palette :- Colour Palette is used to add or remove the colour of an object. For this you can use the x sign on the left sign. While doing these activitites , you can even add or remove the colour from stroke by pressing the Shift key
Opacity :- You can change the depth of a colour by changing the opacity of the colour in the Fill and Stroke window.
3) Explain Adjust page size?
Ans :- The default page size in Ink scape is A4 (210 x 297 mm). Page size can be changed at any stage of work. It can be done by making changes in the window that appears when you click File Document Properties. Ink scape also has the facility to adjust the page size according to the content created through the option Resize page to the content in the window. The same window allows you to remove the page border.
