6.) I like to play with my cousins and friends at home.
7.) Grandfather did not like it when he was soaked in the shower. He turned to raja with an angry look. He ran after raja to beat him. When raja hid in the paddy field he told him about teaching a lesson to him on his coming back to home.
8.) Raja selected the loft in the cowshed because he was afraid to face grandfather even after returning home. He chose that place from where he could see grandfather sitting on the verandah saying his prayers.
9.) Grandmother was waiting for him. When raja did not turn up, she looked for him everywhere in the house. Then she came out and called aloud for him, thinking that he was somewhere in the garden. She went to grandfather and asked him where he was.
10.) Yes, I support grandmother for being angry with grandfather. Raja was afraid to return home because of grandfather’s anger. He did not have the courage to face grandfather who told him to give lesson in home. So, when grandmother came to know they grandfather told raja he would beat him. Grandmother realised the reason behind raja’s not coming to home and got angry.
11.) Grandfather lost his temper because many people came to offer their sympathies to them after the news of raja’s missing spread. All the neighbours, relatives and other people came after hearing the bad news.
12.) The people might have searched outside for raja according to his grandfather’s order.
But they could not find him because he hid in the loft of the cowshed within their house.
13.) More and more people came to raja’s house as they heard the news of his missing. His grandmother lost all hope of seeing him again. People returned without searching him. Grandmother started weeping and other women in the crowd also wept. All of them acted as if he was dead. In this situation raja could not come out.
1.) The sentences which show grandfather’s love for raja are- grandfather stood up and went outside and called aloud. ‘Come raja, come. I won’t beat you.’ Grandfather called the servants and asked them to go out and look for raja. Grandfather started walking up and down the courtyard. Grandfather did not like this. He shouted, ‘nothing has happened to the boy. He is hiding somewhere. Can’t some of you go out and find him instead of wasting your time here? ‘Grandfather stood up, turned in the direction of their family temple and prayed. ‘Help me god’, he said. ‘Give me my child. I want him now. I cannot wait any longer.’ He then stood silent in prayer. Grandfather had just finished his prayer and turned. As he opened his eyes he saw raja standing before him. He took him up in his arms in joy, hugged him and said, ‘god heard my prayers and has given you back to us’.
2.) Raja’s grandfather was a tall and strong man. He always spoke in a loud voice. He knew everyone in the village and people respected him. People used to come to him for advice and help. His grandfather was quite strict that he did not let raja going out to play with other children. He thought raja would be spoiled if he mingled with others. But there was no one with whom raja could play. Other children also could not come to their home because they were afraid of his grandfather. Grandfather loved raja very much and cared for him. When he was missing he ordered others to search for him from anywhere. He prayed to god wholeheartedly till he saw him again.
Raja’s grandmother was kind and gentle person. She took good care of raja. She used to stay with him just like shadow. She would say him to drink milk, eat his food, have his bath and go to bed like all actions. Raja did not like such instruction to do anything but still he loved her very much. When raja was missing his grandmother started panicking and crying in tension that she would lose him. We can see how deeply she loved raja from her reactions in the story.
3.) Raja was scared to come in front of his grandfather as he told him to teach a lesson in home. His grandfather became angry with him for showering water from tree. After hiding in paddy field raja came back home but he had no courage to face grandfather. So, he decided to hide in the loft of the cowshed. Both of his grandfather and grandmother became worried when he did not return home. His grandmother searched him in the whole house but could not find. His grandfather sent other people to search him, they also could not find him. It was not a right way to hide in cowshed and leave family members in trouble. Raja should have come in front of his grandfather and ask for his forgiveness. Instead of doing that raja hide in the cowshed which made the situation opposite.
4.) Yes, I liked the story.
I liked the part of the story which describes how raja used to spend his time in the whole house with his grandfather and grandmother. He could not go out with his friends but he was happy to spend time in their garden, animals and other pets.
I liked the story as it showed how Raja was favourite to his grandparents. They loved him wholeheartedly and unconditionally that they used to take care about all sides of his life. They used to take care for each other and live happily by enjoying each other’s company. So, Raja did not feel bored at home thought he was not allowed to go out and play with friends.
