Ans: – Mahavira was the 24th Tirthankar of Jainism. He was the last Tirthankar of Jainism. Non-violence was the main word of Jainism. People of this religion were not believers in god. Tirthankars was the head of the religion. Mahaveera was born in Kundeal grama in Vaishali. His father was the king of Ganatrika tribe named Siddharta. Mother Trishaladevi was the of the republic of Licchavi. He left home at a very young age. He spent 12 years wandering aimlessly to quench his thirst for truth. He punished his body by fasting at the age 42. He was able o control his sense by going beyond all the luxuries. Due to this achievement, he came to be known as Mahaveera. Rest of his life preaching his knowledge to the people around the Ganga and Yamuna rivers. He attained nirvana in his 72nd year in Pavapuri of Bihar.
