How to Tell Wild Animals Summary Class 10 Chapter Three Poem by Carolyn Wells
HOW TO TELL WILD ANIMALS
SUMMARY
How to Tell Wild Animals is an amusing poem written by Carolyn Wells. The poem recommends some hazardous approaches to describe wild animals. The poetess explained the wildlife species and in a vivacious way. These animals are hazardous. However, the poetess is presenting them individually in an entertaining manner.
In the beginning, she explains to us about the Asian lion. She says that if you visit the forests of the east and there, we see a creature with brownish skin and may roar at you, and you may die out of fear. It means you have met with an Asian Lion.
In the next paragraph, the poetess tells a royal animal having dark stripes on its yellowish skin and is wandering freely in the forest. She says funnily that if this excellent dark striped creature kills us and eats, we have certainly met a Bengal tiger.
After this, she says that if we met an animal with dark-spotted skin and it without a moment’s delay hops on him, at that point, it is a leopard. At that time, even if you cry, the leopard won’t leave you. Then she presents the bear that she says will embrace very tightly. The poetess says that when somebody loves you and really cares for you, they show their sentiments and feelings by giving you a warm embrace. However, when it loves hugs you actually, then it will kill you with its tight embrace. Further, she asks a question to the readers that do we know the way of recognizing beasts that hunt their prey. She further explains that when hyenas kill their prey, they smile. On the other hand, the crocodiles cry when they eat their prey.
In the last paragraph, the poetess explained a little reptile that can change its skin tone. She introduces the Chameleon. She says that it is a lizard type animal that doesn’t have ears and wings much the same as a lizard. You will spot this Chameleon or garden lizard when there is no one on the tree. The ability of the Chameleon to change its skin tone saves him from hunters and different creatures.
