Everything one should know about BE
BE stands for Bachelor of Engineering which is a four year undergraduate degree. It consists of eight semesters and a student has to study almost 48 different subjects in each one. BE is one of the most popular degree among the young generation and in India there is an engineering from every second household. This course basically focuses on the theoretical aspect rather than the practical part to give the full knowledge about science.

There is a broad range of specialisation which one can choose depending upon the capability and interest. The different Engineering is Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Agricultural, Aerospace, Chemical, Information, Marine, Petroleum, Software etc.
Eligibility Criteria
BE is the most preferred degree across the world, so knowing its criteria is necessary.
- Only students who have completed class 12 from a recognised institute in Science stream can enrol to this program.
- Most of the universities ask for 55% -60% of marks in class 12.
- Students have to clear the government organised entrance exam like JEE Prelims, JEE Mains, JEE Advance if they wish to study engineering.
- One should not be more than 20years of age but for any special case a proper justification should be given.
- Some universities also have their own entrance exam which a student has to pass.
Difference between BE and B.tech
BE (Bachelor of Engineering) and B.tech are similar type of degree programs. But the major difference between them is that the former is mainly theory based and fully focuses on the subject matter while the later is practical oriented.
