The Full Form of BA
BA is the most popular program among the students across the world. It stands for Bachelor of Arts which is a three year undergraduate course opt by students interested to study Humanities. The name itself suggests that BA includes a broad range of specialisation which one can choose according to their capability and interest.
Different BA Courses
BA can be of two different types- one his BA(Hons) and the other is BA(General). The former states that a student can choose a specialisation from subjects like Sociology, English, Political Science, Geography, History, Psychology, Economics and so on. She/he will have one major and two general papers along with English as a compulsory subject. In Indian context one can also do specialisation in one’s regional language.
But the later means that all the courses studied will be in a general way. The duration for the both is same(three year).
Eligibility Criteria
Especially in India, BA is the most preferred degree. Almost all universities have BA courses so knowing the eligibility criteria is very important.
- Only students who have completed class 12 from a recognised institute in any stream can enrol to this program.
- Most of the universities ask for 50% of marks in class 12.
- One should not be more than 20years of age but for any special case a proper justification should be given.
- Most are merit based but some universities conduct an entrance exam which an aspirant should pass.

After the completion BA, an aspirant also opts for MA(Master of Art) in the specialised field or any other related course. Jobs are available in all fields like education, corporate, government, banks etc.
BACHELOR OF ARTS (BA)

After completion of this course a student generally applies for government jobs. Or prepare for any competitive exam like UPSC, CSE, to become IAS, or an IPS officer. Some other stream after completion of these competitive exams are Sub inspector, BDO officer, or any kind of government jobs. The Arts background makes it easier for the students to pass these exams because of the humanities and history background.
The fees for the entire duration can cost 40 K to 5 Lacs, if you are doing it from private college, but if you are doing it from a government college it will cost you almost 10 times lower than that amount.
