Difference between Cornea and Iris
Cornea
1.) Cornea is the first part of eye.
2.) It is the thin transparent bulgy layer over an eyeball.
3.) The first refraction of light is takes place through cornea, and then it light enters in eye.
4.) Cornea covers iris and pupil.
5.) Cornea refracts the rays of light and directs it towards the lens of eye.
6.) Cornea does not consist of any blood vessels.
7.) Cornea contains some nerves which make it very sensitive, so that small injury in eye become painful and troubles us for long time, and eye gets reddish.
Iris
1.) The part of eye behind cornea is an iris.
2.) The dark muscular diaphragm beside cornea is known as Iris.
3.) It may have different colours for different person (blue, green, brown, black etc).
4.) Cornea covers iris and pupil.
5.) Iris controls the size of pupil.
6.) Iris contains muscles of pupil to expand or contract so that sufficient amount of light can enter to the lens of eye.
