Dialogue about My Language, My Pride
Ankur: hello, Satish! How are you? Where are you going now?
Satish: hello, ankur. I am going to market for buying some groceries.
Ankur: okay. Will you go to school tomorrow? How is preparation going for the programme on national mother language day?
Satish: 21 February is such a special day for us as we celebrate national mother language day. I am very happy that our school has organised an event on this day. I am grateful to our teachers that they have chosen me as part of this programme.
Ankur: yes, you are right. This event of language day is going to be really exciting and new for us.
Satish: India is a secular country where people of different languages live. We all feel comfortable to communicate in our mother language no matter how much fluent we are in any other language.
Ankur: you are absolutely right. We feel immense happiness from within when we speak in our respective mother language.
Satish: our mother language is Bengali. It is rich in literature and art. Bengali language has got the honour of being the sweetest language from international university. I feel proud of being bengali and speak in my mother language.
Ankur: yes, you are right. Bengali language is well-known in the world as the sweetest language of all.
Satish: our school has organised the programme to focus on the importance of learning mother language first.
Ankur. Yes, Bengali language has rich source of literature and art forms which can enhance our knowledge and understanding over great aspects of the world.
Satish: yes, nowadays students have the tendency to ignore learning mother language and give much importance on the common medium like English or Hindi.
Ankur: but this is wrong overall. Every child should start learning language from their mother language and respect it above all.
Satish: the programme is going to be an eye-opening for audience where they can experience different events based on our mother language.
Ankur: I have taken part in essay competition. I have been given the topic of role of language in shaping one’s personality. I have started researching over this topic and will finish writing before due date.
Satish: I have taken part in debate competition. Besides that I will also prepared a speech as per our class teacher’s permission to reflect my view on that special day.
Ankur: that is really great. I hope you will give your best.
Satish: thank you. You can also try for speech giving event. It will broaden your knowledge and encourage you more to read literature.
Ankur: you are right. Thanks for your suggestion. I will think about it and ask to our class teacher.
Satish: one thing I feel from within my heart that I will always savour the learning from mother language. Even in global platform I wish to represent our mother language and tradition one day.
Satish: yes, people know about the contribution of famous personalities, poets and authors in Bengali language. But when they will know more detail about it and its effectiveness that will give them a different experience.
