(1) Compare the conditions of the Adivasis of India during pre and post-independence era.
Ans: In the both pre and post independence era Adivashi people were always being discriminated. In the pre independence era they were become landless and homeless by the British. Again were victimized after doing revolt against them. Like wise in the post independence era they were too discriminated by the Government and the industrialists. Here too they were become homeless or landless to make extended township. They were again being suppressed.
(2) ‘The Bishnoi conservationists take care of nature and grow with it, instead of exploiting it.’ Explain the statement.
Ans: Bishnois- are the inhabitants of Rajasthan and they are popularly known for their contribution towards nature and environment. They worship animals and natural things as God. They have contributed more to preserve biodiversity. Conservation of environment is the prior work for them and they too have encouraged animal husbandry
(3) Explain the term ‘minorities’. Why do they lag behind the majority community, both educationally and economically? How can they get their rightful place in society?
Ans: In the minority community number of people is less than the majority ones. According to our constitution Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhist, Jain etc belong to the minority community. This minority people are lagging behind both from economically and education wise just because they still believe to follow the traditional education system, which is based on the religion. Rigid kind of mentality and lack of modern educational environment lagging them behind continuously in both economic and educational sector. They can get their rightful place in the society by getting the equal rights on everything. The benefits of progress should be distributed equally and they have to be saved from discrimination and domination.
(4) Suggest any five measures that can be taken for the upliftment of the downtrodden in a democracy.
Ans: The five measures are-
1.) Should get equal opportunity in every sectors.
2.) Education should reach in the each and every corner of the society.
3.) Legislative and judicial sector should co-operate with each other.
4.) Proper action should be taken against social discrimination.
5.) Should take care of the values of the minority people.
(5) What is meant by political safeguards? Who are the beneficiaries of this policy? How far is such a safeguard justified?
Ans: Seats are being reserved in the loksabha, Rajya Sabha and village panchayat for the schedule caste, schedule tribe and for the minority people. The term political safeguard uses for their this secure section. Schedule caste, schedule tribe, minority and the Anglo Indian community people are the beneficiary of this policy. So far the policy is concerned it has helped the minority people to get their rights and make their own position among these majority ones.
