Answer: Yes, the fool did understand the king because he had answered all the questions asked by the king. He answered just by his body language.

Answer: In the first para we see that the king thought himself to be the most powerful person in this world. But a change came in him. In the para 6, the king realized that the God was also powerful and he was not alone powerful.

1.) What did the king was to convey when he raised one finger? What was the shepherd’s response to it?
Answer: When the king raised his one finger, he wanted to ask the shepherd whether he alone was powerful. To this, the shepherd responded by holding two fingers and reminded him that there was also God who was as powerful as him.
2.) Why did the shepherd raise two fingers? What did the king conclude from this?
Answer: The shepherd raised two fingers to tell that there was also another one who was powerful. It was God who was as powerful as he was. The king drew conclusion that the shepherd did read his mind.
3.) What did the king mean when he raised three fingers? How did the fool respond to this? What does it show about his ability to guess?
Answer: By raising three fingers, the king wanted to know whether there was anyone else who was powerful, to which the fool shook his head violently. This shows that he was really good at guessing.
4.) What made the king think that others would guess what he was thinking? What does it show about his character?
Answer: The king wanted to test the guessing level of others and also he considered himself as the most powerful, he wanted others also believe and guess the same.
5.) Why do you think the minister’s daughter chose the shepherd for the task?
Answer: The minister’s daughter must be well aware of the shepherd’s guessing skills so she must have chosen the shepherd for the task.
6.) How can you say that the king was satisfied with the shepherd’s answer?
Answer: The king explained the questions and answers to the minister. He was satisfied with the shepherd’s answers as it was the same thing that was in his mind.
