Amanda imagines herself as a mermaid drifting blissfully in a bugged and an emerald sea where she is the whole and sole inhabitant.
Stanza 3-
Her mother asks her if she has done her homework if she cleared and made her room tidy and warns her to clear her shoes too.
Stanza 4- (Amanda’s thoughts)
Amanda imagines herself to be an orphan who is roaming on dusty roads with her feet bare, and the street is quiet and silent, and she loves that freedom.

He tells her not to eat chocolates and remember her, and she can get acne because of that. She wants Amanda to notice what she is speaking to her.
Stanza 6- (Amanda’s thoughts)
Amanda imagines herself to be Rapunzel, who lives in a tower that is tranquil and rare. All she wishes is never to untie her long, beautiful and bright hair.
Stanza 7-
Her mother ultimately asks her to stop being so sulky and moody. With being so unresponsive to her mothers’ reactions and talks, anyone will think that her mother is always pointing and dragging her to do things her way.
