Hello Student, Here in this post We will discuss about Agarose Gel. Students & Children who wants to know a detailed knowledge about Agarose Gel, then Here we posted a detailed view about Agarose Gel.
Agarose Gel
- Agarose gel is one of the 3-dimensional gel which is made up of thousands of microscopic pores.
- Agarose gel is used in immunodiffusion, agarose gel electrophoresis.
- Agarose gel mainly used for the separation of DNA, RNA and proteins.
- The separation is on the basis of charge and molecular weight.
- The agarose gel has thousands of pores which are called as microscopic sieves.
- These microscopic sieves are present for the purpose of movement of molecules in the gel.
- In agarose gel molecules can migrate on the basis of electricity applied to the gel.
- In agarose gel for the separation of biomolecules various buffers are added.
- The buffers used are TAE (tris acetate edta) buffer which keeps the pH in constant range.
- Agarose gel electrophoresis is one of the major technique one can use.
