Hello Student, Here in this post We will discuss about Agar Diffusion. Students & Children who wants to know a detailed knowledge about Agar Diffusion, then Here we posted a detailed view about Agar Diffusion.
Agar Diffusion
- Agar diffusion method is used to detect antibacterial activity of particular antibiotic.
- Agar diffusion method is of two types such as agar well diffusion method and agar disc diffusion method.
- In agar well diffusion method, well is created in order to pour some solution in it to check the antimicrobial activity.
- In agar disc diffusion method, filter papers are used.
- Agar disc diffusion method or disc diffusion method also called as kirby baur method.
- It is one of the antibiotic sensitivity tests to check the susceptibility of particular antibiotic on any microorganisms.
- There are various factors affecting disc diffusion methods such as density of inoculum, pH, temperature etc.
- In agar diffusion method either (MH) muller hinton agar or nutrient agar is used.
- In this method, MH agar or NA agar in the matrix of this agar various organisms are grown.
- The organisms are of pure culture to get the best results.
