1) Find any three differences between drama and film.
Answer
The three differences are:
- Producing Dramas cost less than producing a film which cost very high.
- Drama are performed on a stage in front of a live audience at a place of time whereas film can be projected in several places at one time.
- The mistakes in a film can be edited and re-taken whereas in a drama there is no scope for making a mistake.
- Film can give you huge revenue than drama.
2) Do you think any story or poem in your language textbook could be made into a small film? Can you think of the various people you will need in making a film based on that?
Answer
Yes the story name is In “The Bazaars of Hyderabad” by Sarojini Naidu which describes about the markets in our country and different people and culture is expressed very beautiful it will be a very good movie to bring unity among the people.
The various people you will need in making a film based on that are Producer, Director, Editor, Cameraman, Actors, Actresses, Junior artists, Singers, Musicians and other technicians are needed for this
3) Some people argue “Cinema is a powerful tool to transform the society”; others argue that “It has a negative impact”. Whom do you agree with and why?
Answer
I think that cinema is a powerful tool to transform the society with both impact (positive or negative impact)it all depends on the persons way of taking the knowledge and the source of it. Cinema can be a medium of mass destruction as well as mass education so I saw we should choose wisely what we put our head and mind into. So it is very important that the filmmaker must understand the value of cinema in an ordinary person’s life and a proper theme should be projected because movies are like a mirror
So some advantages are
- Cinema provides a source of entertainment to all the people whether young or old.
- Cinemas helped to remove many social stigma.
- Cinemas were also made on our History to educate the people.
Some disadvantages are –
- Cinemas can be expensive as well as it affect our mental/physical health.
- Some cinemas can start violence as it hurt the sentiments of some religious group and create conflict in the country.
4) What were the major themes discussed in early films? How is it similar or different from the films you have seen?
Answer
The movies of earlier days were mostly black & white themes and some without sound were either of Popular plays, social stigmas, comedy, freedom movement genre. They were shot in a film studio inside India and were of low budget film.
They are huge difference between earlier and new films:
The films now are coloured and with proper sound whereas the films earlier were mostly black and white and sometime without sound.
Films now are high budget picture whereas earlier the budget of the picture were lower.
Now pictures are based on love and action genre whereas earlier pictures were based on values.
5) How did newspapers play a major role in the freedom movement?
Answer
The Indian press has played a very important and memorable role in the struggle for freedom as newspaper helped in spreading awareness about the real intentions of British rulers. It helped in spreading awareness and making people abolish Sati and also encouraged widow re-marriage were the major reforms. The editors expressed their views on the growth and the economy condition of the country through newspapers. These papers played a important role in getting people more awake to national awareness among Indians. Gandhiji wrote extensively in ‘Harijan’ which played an important role in Freedom movement.
6) What are the reasons for the disappearance of dramas now-a-days.
Answer
The reasons are:
- The entertainment taste has changed of the people to new modern colour entertainment you can record shows and watch later.
- The dramas cannot compete with the variation of films & shows and dramas don’t have such big budget.
- People don’t have so much time to watch a live show they are too much busy in life.
- Cinema industry attracts people of all ages.
- Computers & internet have captured all the entertainment market and keeps human too much involved.
