Speech on World War 2
INTRODUCTION
Respected Principal Sir/Madam, teachers and dear fellow students. Before this beautiful day I have been given a lucky chance to address you all. In my full effort and power I intend to say a few words regarding my topic- “World War 2”.
BODY
On Sep 1, 1939, Hitler invaded Poland, two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany beginning World War 2. But this war was not the usual war; it was something no one had ever seen before on the face of the earth. Cities fell in mud, bodies evaporated in mist on one explosion, lives had no value, world had no day, night had no moon, and world had no god. The true horrors of those days can never be captured by books or pictures, nor can we travel back in time, what we can do is analyze what made the world such a hell, and how we were saved from total destruction. When Hitler formed his Nazi German forces he had a clear vision in mind. Total world domination, a sinister plan to be executed by Germany, Japan and allied forces. This war grew out of unresolved issues from the World War 1, political and economic instability in Germany as a result of Versailles treaty fueled an angered young man to push his country on the brink of total world domination. It is a very fascinating tale of simple beginnings and not so simple end.
Hitler’s thirst for power was unparalleled, with his crude ideology of racial superiority (an idea that true Germans were Aryan race, the purest of races) he began striking major European countries and regions. Whoever resisted fell victim to Germany’s anger. This deathly war ran for 6 years and ended on 2nd Sep, 1945 with Japan’s surrender. It took an atom bomb to scare the world up and finally end the war for good. When America tested two atom bombs on japan, the world witnessed the price of power. Everything wiped out from the sites of explosion. The radioactive rays were the messenger of death and potent killers in all their respects. We can never truly capture the sadness and loneliness of those times nor can we ever undo the damage which the Germans inflicted onto the world but we can at least learn some important lessons about how small conflicts can turn into major wars. How these conflicts can be reasoned and solved will determine the course of a country’s future and in a way of the world too.
World War 2 pushed millions in homelessness, hunger, and thirst. Love was lost forever; the true horror and almost devilish tales are still chilling to hear from the written accounts. It is so unjust of a country like Germany to do such deed especially when our India always preached non-violence to the world. Those times were unstable like I already mentioned and desperate times means desperate and drastic measures. A war is never an option, and now when almost every big country has nuclear weapons, wars I hope should be the things of past.
CONCLUSION
Every war can be avoided, every atrocity can be avoided and every conflict can be resolved with proper counsel and understanding. At last I want to say, we as human beings should never forget what our history is, not just the happy and prosperous times but also the times of gloom and distrust. We can learn a lot from their study. Thank you for being such a good crowd.
