The German soldiers started singing and British soldiers appreciated them. Then both the soldiers started singing merrily. Then soldiers from both the countries were in no man’s land. Despite some of them not knowing each others’ languages, they still conversed each other and exchanged gifts like coffee, tea, corned meat, sausage, helmet, jack knife, etc. These were the same people who were enemies last night, but one happy festival made them come together and forget their differences. Dear family,

I have never been happy as much as I am now. It is amazing to see how festival can change everything. What happened on the war field might surprise you. We had pleasure celebrating Christmas with excitement. We got along very well with each other and exchanged many gifts.
