Prospero’s younger brother Antonio was cruel and selfish man and he wanted the dukedom so he with the help of King of Naples sent Prospero and his daughter to a lonely island. Prospero loved books especially of magic one. He possessed power of magic and with the help of his power he had released many good spirits from a witch called Sycorax who had them imprisoned in the bodies of large trees. He was gentle and caring father and loved his daughter. He raised a storm in the ship in which his brother and King of Naples were in. But he didn’t harm anyone in it. When he got to know about Ferdinand, king’s son he wanted to test his love his daughter. He gave him most laborious job. His intentions were not unkind he just wanted to test him. At the end he forgives his cruel brother Antonio and king of Naples. He didn’t hold any grudges against them and wanted to have a happy life for his daughter ahead. It shows Prospero was a kind and had heart of lion who forget the bad past despite his sufferings.
(2) Narrate how Prospero made his enemies repent to restore his dukedom.
Answer: Prospero was duke of Milan. His daughter, Miranda was the only heir of the dukedom. He had a younger brother named Antonio who was cruel and wanted the dukedom. His evil intention made him took a wrong step and with the help f King of Naples he sent Prospero and his daughter to deserted island. Prospero was a good human being and lead a good life there. When he came to know about the ship in which his brother and King of Naples is travelling, he raised a storm and made them come on the island. It is then Ferdinand fell in love with Miranda. On the other side when others were hungry they were presented with food by Ariel, but as they began to eat, the food would disappear. It was then Antonio and King of Naples had regret in their hearts and remembered how cruel they were with Prospero. They felt sorry and repented their crime. Prospero asked them bring all of them and he forgave them for their cruel acts of the past. He was ready to give his daughter’s hands in the hand of Ferdinand, son of King of Naples.
