Rabindra Jayanti is celebrated on 25th day of baisakh month each year in our school on the occasion of Rabindra Nath Tagore’s birth anniversary. It is celebrated all around the world to celebrate the great work of Rabindranath Tagore in the fields of culture, literature and poetry. On this occasion poetry programs, dance competitions , drams and singing competition on his songs are organized. The program in our school started at 7 am in the morning where our music ma’am with hindi teacher explained the greatness of Rabindranath Tagore, his achievements and how he was appreciated by each and every individual who knew him. The program started with the poetry competition organized by the literary club in which poems of Rabindranath Tagore were recited. After that a beautiful program on dramas written by him was organized in hindi language translated from Bengali. We enjoyed each and every program as everything was knowledgeable and eye opening about ourselves. At the end of the program we all collectively applauded for him as our sir told us that he was the first non-European to receive a Nobel prize in literature in the year 1913. We hope to read some of his works and learn as much as possible. We all were given books written by Rabindranath Tagore and were asked to write a summary on the book to learn about literature. At 2:30 pm the program was wrapped up and we were allowed to leave. I thank our school and especially literary club for organizing such a knowledgeable program. I hope every school organizes these kind of programs to encourage literature and our culture.
Thank you
