Report on Blood Donation Camp Organised in Your Locality
2 April 2011
Maharishi nagar, Wadala
Mumbai
Blood donation camp was organized in my locality in the area Gulmohar garden Delhi NCR. A total of 12 doctors from a nearby government hospital with 6 nurses came to our locality for the blood donation camp. They firstly briefed us about the blood types and diseases related to blood which can spread or which can be harmful for human body. They also explained that blood is the only thing in this earth which cannot be made outside the human body. An average adult contains 5 to 6 liters of blood which is donated in small quantity such as 200 to 300 ml can be easily re-generated buy a body in 24 hours. They also give us very important information regarding how many blood types are present that is; A+, A- , B+, B-, O+ and O- and that AB+ blood type can receive any blood and O+ can donate to anybody. After all this briefing we all were supposed to get our blood checked for hemoglobin and blood type. My blood type came out to be B+ and hemoglobin of 10.2. I was eligible for blood donation and thus I went on to donate blood with the doctors and nurses. Many of our locality’s older people and people above 18 years donated blood for a good cause. I pledge to donate blood every alternate month when healthy and will help anybody in need. I also suggest everyone to donate blood as it is a healthy process and your body re- generates that much blood in 24-48 hours. At last the head of the hospital gave us a thanking speech and we appreciated everyone for their efforts in saving people’s lives.
Thank you
Komal Shinde.
