Ans- Honey bees are the most important insects for pollinations in plants. Honey bees have been used for obtaining the honey for thousands of years. It has high energy food material and also been used for medicinal purpose. The pure honey does not destroyed for a long time it is used a preservatives. A product is like bee wax, honey, are used in daily life. for this various purpose culture of honey bee is important.
(38.) Describe the formation of silk from silkworm.
Ans- those insects which produce thread like silk are called silk worm. Bombyx mori which feed on mulberry leaves is the main species. It give good quality of silk.
Formation of silk from silkworm- 2to 7 generation of the insects can be developed in one year. After the incubation period the larva hatches out of the egg is known as caterpillar. Larva has one pair of salivary gland known as silkglands. The full grown larva is 7.5cm meter long and it stops feeding and after formation of cocoon the larva is called Pupa. Cocoon is made up of app. 100-1200 meter long thread of silk. The weight of the one cocoon is 1.8 to 2.2 gm this is the formation of silk from silkworm.
(39.) Explain the importance of fish culture and poultry.
Ans- fish culture- fish is an easily available proteinaceous, highly nutritious and easily digestive food resources, therefore fishery has been done by human for breeding and production of fishes. In west Bengal, Bihar, and Orissa about 1500 years old fish industry is present.
Poultry- the traditional of poultry for eating eggs and meat (chicken) is since ancient times.this industry fulfils a major part of proteins requirements as a food substance. India ranks 5th position in the world in egg production point of view.
