1.) What do you mean by the Supremacy of the Constitution?
Ans: The Constitution is regarded as the highest law. Prior to actually taking office, all major officers within our government take an oath of allegiance to the constitution. The constitution governs all governmental and non-governmental organisations. The judiciary was established to ensure law and order. It had been made impartial and independent. Every organisation that is not administered in conformity with the constitution is considered unconstitutional.
2.) How was the Constitution of India formed?
Ans: A seven member committee was framed on 29th August 1947 under the leadership of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to give a complete shape to the constitution. That manuscript committee studied the constitutions of many other countries of the world. It borrowed certain principles from the constitutionsof other countries. The constitution committee held eleven conventions. It look 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to complete the Indian constitution, and was ready on 26th Nov. 1949.
3.) How has the judiciary been made Impartial in India?
Ans: The judiciary has been given many power for the protection of the constitution. One such important power is the protection and implementation of constitution. That power implied that in case any law made by Legislature or any orders passed by executive council, do not abide by any section of the constitution, then judiciary has the right to declare such laws unconstitutional. Many steps have been taken to make the judiciary biased and independent, such as appointment of the judges, their salaries, terms of service have been fixed differently than from the other government officials.
4.) Which movements were started by Mahatma Gandhi against the British Government?
Ans: The Non-Cooperation Movement was started by Mahatma Gandhiji in 1921. The Civil Disobedience Movement was started in 1930, while the Quit India Movement was started in 1942 AD.
5.) What is meant by prohibition and why should it be put into practice?
Ans: The term prohibition means to disallow. It should be put into practice to stop illegal activities, which could be a punishable offence.
According to Dowry Prohibition Act of 1961, taking and giving dowry both ways is treated as offence. To eradicate this abuse of dowry, it should be implemented strictly.
