(A) Answer the following questions:
1.) When and from which country Mahatma Gandhiji came back to India?
Ans: Mahatma Gandhiji came back to India from South Africa around 1915 A.D.
2.) What do you mean by ‘Satyagraha’ Movement?
Ans: ‘Satyagraha’ Movement was a revolutionary movement started by Gandhiji to protest against the Rowlatt Act formed by the british.
3.) Where and when Jallianwala Bagh tragedy occurred?
Ans: The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre occurred in Amritsar on April 13, 1919.
4.) Write down the names of the persons who left their law practices during the non-cooperation.
Ans: Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Lala Lajpat Rai, Moti Lai Nehru, C.R. Dass, Sardar Patel, left their law practices during the non-cooperation.
5.) Write down a note on Simon Commission.
Ans: British government sent Simon Commission in 1928 A.D. to India to enquireabout the reform for the act of 1919 A.D. This Commission had seven members, but none of them was Indian. That is why Commission was welcomed with black flags and with the slogans ”Simon Commission go back.” Government‘lathi’ charged the people, and as a result Lala Lajpat Rai got hurt and died.
6.) Write down a note on Quit India Movement.
Ans: On August 8, 1942, Gandhi Ji initiated the Quit India Movement after the Second World War. On August 9, 1942, the AD government detained Gandhi Ji as well as other congress leaders. People stormed police stations, government buildings, post offices, and train stations after hearing the news. However, the British authorities was unable to put the protestors down.
7.) Write down a note on Azad Hind Fauj.
Ans: In 1939AD because of the ideological difference with Gandhi Ji, Subhash Chandra Bose left congress, in March 1941 AD he left India, in 1943 AD he reached ‘Tokeyo’ (Japan).He founded the Azad Hind Fauj ‘to get India free from Britishers. In it were Indian soldiers who were imprisoned by Japan in the second world war. Subhash Chandra Bose raised the slogans ‘Delhi Chalo’ ‘Give me blood. I shall give you freedom’ and ‘Jai Hind’. But in 1943 AD Japan was defeated inthe second world war,So the Azad Hind Fauj failed to get freedom forIndia. In 1945 AD Subhash Chandra Bose waskilled in an aircraft accident Britishers arrested the soldiers of Azad Hind Fauj. That is why Indians observed Hartals and processions throughout the country. In the end the Britishers released all the soldiers of Azad Hind Fauj.
