Ans: Following are the qualifications required for a governor.
(a) He/she should be mentally and physically fit.
(b) He/she should be an Indian citizen above the age of 35 years.
(3) Who can be secretary of some department?
Ans: Directors and deputy directors can be the secretary to same department.
(4) Name out, who is the chief minister and governor of your state?
Ans: The chief minister of our state (West Bengal) is Mamata Banerjee and governor is C.V. Ananda Bose.
(5) Who is the executive head of a state?
Ans: The executive head of a state is the governor of that state.

(1) Write in the short the functions of the governor.
Ans: The functions of the governor are as follow:
(a) He/she appoints the leader of the majority party as chief minister of the state and other ministers.
(b) He/she gives assent to all type of bills of state legislature and can also seek president’s approved in case its needed.
(2) Write about the powers and functions of the chief minister.
Ans: The powers and functions of chief minister are as follows:
(a) He/she advises and helps the governor in the selection of council of ministers.
(b) He/she distributes protection among the ministers and appoint deputy ministers or state ministers as per need.
(c) He/she presides over the meetings of the cabinet and act as chief speaks man of the state government.
(3) Give in brief the election procedure of legislative assembly or legislative council.
Ans: Members of the legislative assembly is called MLA and directly elected by the adult voters on the basis secret ballot system. For the legislative assembly one member is elected from each constituency and the member of M.L.A’s vary from state on the basis of population i.e. from minimum 6 members to maximum 500 members as fixed by the constitution.
(4) Which civil officials (Bireaucracy) run the state administration?
Ans: The civil officials who run the state administration are the chief Minister and the Governor of the state.
(5) Give five reasons of Road accidents.
Ans: Five reasons of road accidents are as follows:
(a) Fast speed: The drivers of the vehicles generally drive at a very high speed, then the prescribed one and causes accidents.
(b) To ignore road signals: Many a times drivers ignore the road signals while driving vehicles. At times, they speed up the vehicles to cross the road about at the movement the green light changes to red.
(c) Lack of visibility: Rain, fog or snowfall hinder the visibility level at night causing road accidents.
(d) Wrong overtaking: Wrong overtaking sometimes lead to head on collision between two or more than two vehicles causing major accidents.
(e) Drunken Driving: Alcoholic drinks reduces the driving ability and causes drowsiness to the drivers which becomes a major cause of accidents.
