Prefix
Prefixes are letters or a letter added in the beginning of a word. It usually changes the meaning of the word.
Examples:-
1.) This is impossible for me to come so early. (im + possible)
Here, “im” is added to possible in beginning to create a new word, “im” is a prefix.
2.) Jyoti is unhappy because of her classmates. (un + happy)
Here, “un” is added to happy in beginning to create a new word, “un” is a prefix.
3.) Niharika’s acts are unnoticeable. (un + noticeable)
Here, “un” is added to noticeable in beginning to create a new word, “un” is a prefix.
Suffix
Suffixes are letters or a later added in the end of a word. It usually showcases whether the words are singular or plural.
Examples:-
1.) A teacher is a guide to whom we should follow. (teach + er)
Here, “er” is added to teach in the end to create a new word, “er” is a suffix.
2.) Movement of body is important to keep us healthy. (Move + ment)
Here, “ment” is added to move to create a new word, “ment” is a suffix.
3.) His cousin is so helpful. (help + ful)
here, “ful” is added to help to create a new word, “ful” is a suffix.
