Kabaddi
Q1) Answer the following questions :-
1) List the landmarks in the history of Kabaddi India?
Ans :- Kabaddi is the game that was being developed during the before the history time where the human beings were attacking themselves from the attacks of the wild animals. In the year 1936, the game was first introduced at international level by Hanuman Vyayam Pracharak Mandal which is Amravati, Maharashtra in Berlin’s Olympics. In 1938, the game was introduced at Calcutta in Indian Olympic games. In the year 1950 the All India Kabaddi Federation was brought into the existence. In 1973, the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) was been formed. After the formation of AKFI, in 1975 the first men’s national was held in Madras which is in Chennai whereas the women’s national was held in Calcutta (Kolkata). The foundation of Asian Kabaddi Federation (AKF) was done in 1978. The AKF works under Olympic council of Asia. The
IKF (International Kabaddi Federation) formulates/frames the rules and regulation of the game. India is the only team which has won the world cups repeatedly in the year 2004, 2007, 2010. In the world cup of 2004 and 2007, Iran was the runner up and in 2010’s world cup, Pakistan proved to be runner up.
2) What are the system of scoring Kabaddi ?
Ans :- In this game, one point is given to the team who throws/ makes out to the opponent player (attacker). If incase the whole opponent team is thrown out/made out, then extra two points (bonus points) are given. This points are known as Loan/Lona.
3) What are the rules regarding substitution?
Ans :- The rules regarding the substitution are as follows :-
i) Five players are always kept as substitute player, which can be replaced/ substituted during the time out or interval but with the permission of
ii) Substituted players can re changed/ replaced
iii) If incase any player is been removed/disqualified from the match, then there wouldn’t be any replacement of player against the disqualified player. The team from which the player is been disqualified, that team will play with less number of team members.
4) What is a bonus point ?
Ans :- Some of the points are described below, that will help us to understand the bonus clearly which are :
- If any raider crosses the white line (bonus line), the one point is been given to the (raider) team, but if incase while crossing the bonus line the raider is been caught by the opponent team, then one point is given to that particular
- If there are 6 players in the court, then only it is liable for the bonus line. As the referee successfully completes the raid, then the umpire raise his thumb in upwards direction towards the team who scores the
- While doing the raid for gaining the bonus point, if the raider (from attacking team) is been caught by the defending team, then one point is given to the defending team and not the attacking team and vice
- There are no points given against the bonus
- If incase any player is been removed/disqualified from the match, then there wouldn’t be any replacement of player against the disqualified player. The team from which the player is been disqualified, that team will play with less number of team members. Such players are taken into consideration for giving bonus point.
- For scoring the bonus point, the raider has to successfully cross/touch the bonus line without being touched/caught by the opponent players
- If the player is been touched/caught during crossing the bonus line, then the bonus point is not rewarded.
5) What is the Golden Raid rule ?
Ans :- In Golden Raid, if any raider who raids first and he scores the single point, the his team will win the match. During the tie breaker, if any player from the team is suspended for temporarily basis, then that particular team will play the game with less number of players. No out or revival rule is applied during the game but only the points that is scored by the team will be counted.

1) The kabaddi court measures 13 x 10 meters for men and 12×8 meters for women with a dividing line in between making it into identical halves.
2) Each team consists of minimum 10 and maximum 12 players, but only 7 players take the ground at a time.
3) The duration of the match is two halves of 15 minutes with 5 minutes interval incase of men and junior boys and of 15 minutes with 5 minutes interval in the case of women and junior girls.
4) Each team shall be allowed to take 2 “time outs” of 30 seconds each in each half.

Ans :- The features of Judo game are as followed :-
i) Judo is the one type of martial art and is a part of the Olympic
ii) The word Judo means ‘Ju’ means to be gentle and ‘do’ means the way or path. Judo was first developed in the 19th century in Japan by following the principles or balance of jujutsu which was created by the professor Jigoro Kano .
iii) The main motive of the Judo sport is to throw or pull the opponent player to the ground. By forcing the opponent player to submit the game by making/ doing a joint lock or choke.

2) Why should we learn Judo?
Ans :- We should learn judo for protecting/defending ourselves from the attacks made by the opponent person by string his feet and hand. People mostly learn judo to take actively part in the competition or for self defense.
3) How has Judo developed in India ?
Ans :- In the year 1929, Rabindra Tagore wrote about the coaching and practicals done in India by the well known Japanese Judoka Shinzo Takagaki in his book called Shantiniketan. In 1965, the Judo Federation of India was been formed/established.

1) List the landmarks in the history of wrestling in India?
Ans :- In India, Wrestling was known as Malla Yuddha. At the time of Mahabharat Bhima, Jarasandha, Duryodhana, and Karna were considered/known as one of the great wrestlers where are during Ramayana, Hanuman was been considered. During the Britishers rule, they included the game of wrestling into the military practice. Till the year 11960, India was one of the top countries in wrestling. In the year 1967, the World Wrestling Championship was firstly held in India at New Delhi. Kushti has made its trademark as local as well as global game. In Kushti, three things are been focused more which are Dao (Moves), Pench (Counter Moves) and Pantras (Stance). There are similarities between Dao which is known as Multani, Dhobi Pat and Kalajangh these are some the free style moves of arm drag, front hip throw, fireman carry. In India, the wrestling is mostly played in mud pits for an half hour, an hour or more than it. While playing the game of wrestling, Indian wrestlers mostly/mainly follow the International rules and regulations. In 2004 Athens Games, womens took part in the wrestling Olympics.
2) List and describe the scoring rules and terms of wrestling?
Ans :- The rules related to scoring in wrestling is as follows :-
i) When the opponent wrestler is brought down on the ground from the standing position, one point is scored, but the value of point increases when the opponent wrestler is been brought down at his back on the
ii) Turning of opponents shoulder to the mat is termed as Exposure. If the back area line is broken by 90 degree angle, then the point is been scored. If incase the wrestler keeps holding the opponent wrestler in a dangerous position for minimum five seconds, then the wrestler is rewarded with 1 point
iii) Reversal means when the opponent wrestler comes from the beneath of the attacking wrestler and controls himself and keeps his at the top of the other wrestler, this is a reverse move where one point is been granted.
iv) Escape is treated when the wrestles tries to come from the bottom of the wrestler’s dominating position/ control, and coms on his feet facing towards the opponent wrestler and hence one point is allotted to the wrestler for making its
