Sahibzade Ajit singh and Sahibzade Jujhar Singh fought fearlessly side by side with their father Guru Govind Singh Ji. Their bravery filled the heart of the Sikh soldiers with hope and courage.
Despite their best efforts the situation grew dire when their castle was surrounded by the enemy forces. With Castle surrounded their connection with the world was cut off along with their supply of food and water. Realizing the gravity of the situation Guru Govind Singh Ji gave permission to his elder sons to enter the battle. Sahibzade Ajit Singh and Sahibzade Jujhar Singh laid their lives in the battlefield while fighting valiantly against the Mughal army. They sacrificed their life to withhold the principles of Sikhism.
The younger sons of Guru Govind Singh Ji, Sahibzade Zorawar Singh and Sahibzade Fateh Singh were captured by the Mughal Forces soon after the death of their elder brothers. They were only 9 and 7 years old respectively at the time of captivity. After being captured they were subjected to extreme brutality to break them and force them to convert to Islam. They refused to bow down their head to this tyranny and chose to sacrifice their lives. Their sacrifice became a guiding light for those who were fighting against the oppressive rule of emperor.
