Subject: About the pollution caused by the bursting of crackers in Diwali
Respected Sir,
This letter is to express your concern about the pollution caused by firecrackers on Diwali through a column in your esteemed newspaper. Pollution has increased in our city during the festive season. Firecrackers are dangerous for the human body as well as for the environment. The government has passed rules regarding environmentally friendly Diwali and Kali Puja. People do not follow the rules properly. They are polluting the sound as well as the air. There are different types of firecrackers for sale in the market, which people buy for their enjoyment, regardless of the reasons. Some firecrackers produce harmful gases which are dangerous for human body. These firecrackers cause a lot of pollution. Youths of city explode crackers at any time. The government has enacted several laws to allow firecrackers to explode between 8 and 10 pm. This pollution damages the human respiratory system. The government has recently banned the use of firecrackers. The government had to take this decision due to the influence of Covid 19.
Therefore, it is harmful to set off firecrackers on Diwali. I would like to request you to publish this issue in your esteemed newspaper for the welfare of common people.
Yours truly,
Vijay Kale
