I.) Answer these questions:

Answer: Granny would send some fudge to Mohan because he liked sweets. She wouldn’t send meat because no one ate meat at Mohan’s home.
2.) Besides Rusty and Mohan who was fond of Granny’s fudge?
Answer: Besides Rusty and Mohan, squirrels were fond of Granny’s fudge.
3.) You can’t climb a papaya tree. Why? How can you bring the papayas down?
Answer: You can’t climb papaya tree because they are too slender and wobbly.

Answer: Granny would make pickles to earn money. The mango crop and her small pension wasn’t enough for her so she would sell pickles. She was famous for her pickles. Mohan and Rusty would help her in her trade.

Answer: Granny would buy a turkey for Christmas with the money that Rusty and Mohan earned for her. Uncle Ken took a good share of the meal in Granny’s kitchen.

Answer: Major Clarke was of the opinion that there was no one who could make a pickle like granny. She was God’s gift to a world that’s terribly short of good cooks.
7.) What advice did Granny give to Uncle Ken? What did he say in reply?
Answer: Granny advised Uncle Ken that it was high time for him to find a job. She suggested him to go his sister Emily who was a headmistress of a school in Lucknow and she could make him in-charge of the dormitory. To this Uncle Ken replied that there were no jobs in Dehra and how could she expect him to look after forty / fifty demented small boys.

Answer: Rusty lied about Miss Leslie because he knew that Uncle Ken was fond of Miss Leslie. Rusty mentioned Mr. Houghton to inform Uncle Ken that she was going to the picture the next day.
