Answer: Political condition of the country under Aryans- Later Vedic kings were different from the Rigveda kings. They used to properly possessed kingdoms and guided by Purohit, Mantri, Senani and Gramini. Sabha and Samiti was there to discuss about different matters. Sabha was made by the village elders and Samiti was the policy makers.
2.) What was the condition of women in the Early Vedic Period?
Answer: Condition of Women in the early Vedic period – they used to carry respect from the society and should be present in all the religions ceremonies. They were well educated. Social evils against women like Sati pratha, Child marriage were absent in the society.
3.) Explain the Varna System. What change did it undergo during Later Vedic Period?
Answer: Varna system – The whole society beas divided into four Varnas- Bramhin , Kshatriya, Baishya and Sudra. People those who were engaged in religious work, belonged to Bramhins. People those who were engaged in war and used to give protection were called Kshatriya. Cultivators or craftsmen were called Baishya and people who served the other three classes were called labour or Shudras.
In the later Vedic period the Varna system became hereditary and rigid. No one could change their occupation or Varna.
4.) List the achievements of the Aryans in the field of science and mathematics.
Answer: Achievements of Ariyans-
In the field of mathematics- Mathematics or Ganita was divided into Arithmetic, Algebra and Geometry in their time. They gave the Knowledge of zero.Again the knowledge of decimal, square root, cube root, under root were generated by them
In the field of science- motion of the heavenly bodies, movement of Earth on its own axis and around the sun , movement of moon etc were discovered by them.
5.) List the occupations of the Aryans.
Answer: Occupations of the Ariyans- Agriculture, weaving, carpentry, Jewellery making, trading etc. But Agriculture was the main occupation among all. They used to cultivate wheat, barley, rice, bean etc. To take the help for ploughing they used to domesticate animals like cow, bulls ,sheep or goats. They had brought the horse from the central Asia for this purpose.
