e) Mr. Pakrashi was PatolBabu’s mentor during his acting career who guided him a lot. Mr. Pakrashi used to say, “Each word spoken in a play is like a fruit in a tree. Not everyone in the audience has access to it. But you, the actor, must know how to pluck it, get at its essence, and serve it up to the audience.” This words influenced PatolBabu a lot to perform well according to a character no matter how small it is. He gained confidence to show dedication towards his acting skills after that.
f) When PatolBabu got his dialogue first which was only ‘oh’ he tried to utter the single word in different ways. He tried to understand the essence of the word with different expressions. He wanted to deliver the same word with different meanings in different occasions. This clearly shows he was a marvellous actor who tries to give his best part in work. He was so exciting and prepared about acting in his role. But when he came to know about the dialogue he felt discouraged. He was so disappointed that the questions like ‘were these people pulling his legs? Was the whole thing a gigantic hoax? A meek, harmless man likes him, and they had to drag him into the middle of the city to make a laughing stock out of him. How could anyone be so cruel?’ came into his mind. He thought that those people were making fun of him and bullying him.

Still he was wondering if everyone would appreciate his work or not. So, he was in doubt to accept payment for doing such small role. He thought it would be disrespecting his art and acting skills by taking money. This characteristic of PatolBabu showed that he cared about his self-respect the most which made him unique in this way.
