AP 10th Class English Chapter 2C The Brave Potter Solution
Answer the following questions.
1.) What did the tiger think the mysterious creature was? Why did he allow himself bound around the neck with a thick rope?
The tiger had heard the woman exclaiming about the leak in the roof, he started wondering what creature the leak was ,that the woman was terrified of it and how dangerous it could be that it wasn’t even afraid of the tiger.
The tiger heard a mysterious voice that said that. It would kill him if it did not go away from home. The tiger suspected that it was the creature, leak. And he better do as it said or else it would kill him.this is the reason why he allowed himself to be bound around the neck with a thick rope
2.) What made the potter angry? What made him more angry?
The Potter came home after a long day of work and was tired and thirsty. He was drunk and the storm had begun and he realised that he had left his donkey under a tree so he rushed out of the house to take it to the stable but however he could not find him there which made him angry. The fact that the Potter had to walk through the wet forest with his donkey and had to stumble and fall over roots made him even more angry.
3.) Why did the king make the potter the General of the army?
The king was amidst a war and he needed enough strong soldiers and heroes to lead his army. When he inquired his minister about the heroes in his country they came to know about this spotter of whom people were telling tales that he had tied a tiger to a tree and had caught him single handedly. on learning upon his bravery the king appointed him the general of the army
4.) Why do you think the sentry feels that the potter is a giant?
The sentry was not aware of the reality of the Potters situation, all he saw was that the Potter was riding on the horseback and he was carrying a tree in one hand and the reins in the other. he had perceived that it was the tiger general who had uprooted a tree with his single hand and that he would not be any ordinary man but a giant.
5.) Do you think that the potter is really brave or lucky? Give your reasons.
In my opinion the luck favoured the Potter and as a result he came out of each adverse situation victorious. First time he had mistaken the tiger to be his donkey and even the tiger was afraid thinking that it was a strange creature instead of the Potter. he thought it was his donkey and since he was angry he had tied it. however when the villagers saw it. they started to believe that he had captured the tiger single handedly. similar things happened when he became the general of the army. he was very afraid of riding a horse and could not control it as a result when he rode his horse it was out of his control and while galloping on the horse he had grabbed a branch and since the horse did not stop it came to his hand. The soldiers of the opposition army misunderstood this and thought that he had uprooted a whole tree. They were extremely scared and fled for their life on hearing upon this and being stranded by his army the opposition king gave up and yet again the Potter became a hero by the stroke of luck.
6.) What is the most humorous and thrilling incident in the story? Write the incident and say why it is humorous and thrilling
I think the fact that the opposition army misunderstood it’d be Potter who was actually a coward to be a brave warrior and giant was the most hilarious part. In reality we know that the Potter was clinging onto the horse somehow and while riding it he had grabbed onto a young tree branch and since the horse did not stop the branch broke off and came off to his hand. This made the sentry of the opposition army think that he had uprooted a whole tree with his hand. The entire army was terrified of his might and fled. Even the king of the enemy side had to submit. The reason why it is so thrilling and amusing at the same time is that even though the Potter was a coward and did not even try to put up an act, he emerged as a hero, and the way he reacted to his situation was quite hilarious.
