Adjectives for Class 1 – 5, 6 – 8 and 9, 10 Students

Adjectives in a sentence are simply describing words which describes about the nouns used in the sentence.

Examples:-

1.) Some people should be aware of the fact that they give meaningless facts.

Here, meaningless is an adjective because it describes the noun.

2.) This is a wonderful view.

Here, wonderful is an adjective because it describe the noun.

3.) He is bad at German.

Here, bad is an adjective is an because it describe the noun.

1.) Comparative adjectives

Comparative adjectives are used to compare a thing or a person with each other. In comparisons, one tends to be superior in quality or quantity than another.

Examples:-

  1. Nidhi is older than vikram.

Here, older is the comparative adjectives.

  1. Anjali is smarter than her brother.

Here, smarter is the comparative adjectives.

  1. Offline classes are better than online classes.

Here, better is the comparative adjectives.

2.) Superlative adjectives

Superlative adjectives in a sentence are used to indicate which is at peak of quality or has highest quality and is extreme.

Examples: –

  1. Nancy is the tallest one in her class.

Here, tallest is superlative adjectives.

  1. I think that’s the biggest mango tree I’ve ever seen..

Here,  the biggest is the superlative adjective.

  1. I’m the youngest one in my family.

Here, the youngest is the superlative adjective.

3.) Predicate adjectives

Predicate adjectives in a sentence are that follows linking verb and describes the subject of the sentence.

Examples:

  1. The boy seemed bright for his age.

Here, seemed is the predicate adjective.

  1. Nidhi would be perfect on him.

Here, perfect is the predicate adjective.

  1. They are a monster.

Here, monster is a predicate adjective.

4.) Adjective of quality

Adjective of quality is used to indicate the quality of a thing animal or person.

Examples:-

  1. French is a difficult language.

Here, difficult is a quality of adjective.

  1. Masoom is very good at studies.

Here, good is a quality of adjective.

  1. TajMahal is very beautiful which is located in Agra.

Here, beautiful is a quality of adjective.

5.) Adjective of quantity

Adjective of quantity is used to indicate the quantity of a person or things and land send answer of question ‘how much’.

Examples:-

  1. Neelima some ate chia seeds today.

Here, some is a quantity of adjective.

  1. Aastha eats an apple daily.

Here, an is a quantity of adjective.

  1. Virat has lost all the matches in IPL.

Here, all is anquantity of adjective.
