The term acknowledgement and acknowledgment is very classic example of a very long rivalry between British and American English. Both the terms are used very frequently in our day to day life and hence it becomes at most important to know the proper usage of this term. The term acknowledgement has literally the same meaning as of the previous term that is “act of recognizing, admitting, or accepting the existence, truth, or validity of something. It is a formal or informal declaration that something is true, accurate, or real”

It is very important to note that this is very rare case where two terms having slightly spelling difference and have same meaning and both of them are grammatically correct.

This whole difference arose because of American dropping of an extra “e” from British English for an example British term “acknowledgement” in this the “e” after “g” was dropped by the American and came up with their own term acknowledgment.

Acknowledgement is pronounced as uhk naw luhj muhnt which is more or less is nearly the same the really difference will be in assent of both.
