Early life
Saha was born on 24 October 1984 in Siliguri, West Bengal. His parents are Prasanta Saha and Maitrayee Saha. His father was working in the West Bengal State Electricity Board. His brother’s name is Anirban Saha who is older than him. He did not provide any more information about his family.

Professional life/Career Synopsis
He became a member of Bengal Cricket and played in teams at the Under-19 and Under-22 levels before making his first-class debut. He made his debut on 2006-07 in the Ranji Trophy against Hyderabad. He became the 15th Bengal player to score a century by accumulating an unbeaten 111 runs in the match. In the 2009-10 Ranji season he accumulated 318 runs and he represented East Zone in the national zonal competitions on multiple occasions. In the 2014 IPL Auction, Kings XI Punjab acquired Saha as a specialist wicketkeeper. He also scored 362 runs. Against his former team Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL final, he made an unbeaten 115 runs from 55 balls. He had 8 sixes and 10 fours, but the Kings XI Punjab team didn’t win. He was purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 1.2 crores in December 2018 during the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League. During the 2020 season, he played for the same team.
In 2010, he made his Test debut against South Africa in Nagpur. As a backup keeper he was part of the squad, but Rohit Sharma was injured and he was called into action. Scored 36 runs in the second innings but not in the first. Due to a slow over rate MS Dhoni’s suspension was accidental, and he was unable to play in the Adelaide Test in January 2012 against Australia. On December 2013 he toured South Africa. It was part of the test squad in England and New Zealand in February 2014. Saha became the third wicket-keeper in Indian cricket history to record six dismissals in a test innings. In 2016, he was named Man of the Match in the second Test against New Zealand in Kolkata. On 28 November 2010 in Guwahati, he made his ODI debut against New Zealand. He manages 5 runs only. He never really got a chance in ODIs.

On February 2022 he said that a journalist had sent him the threatening message. Although he did not tell that person’s name, he said he kept that with him out of humanity. But He wrote “I was hurt and offended. Rather than tolerating such behaviour and not wanting anyone to suffer such harassment, I decided to expose the chat in the public realm, but not the person’s name. This became the more controversial issue for him.

Facts to know about Wriddhiman Saha:
- Saha then got engrossed in cricket, to the extent that he gave up his college studies to pursue the sport. Part 1 of his graduation exam was the last exam of Saha ’s life.
- As a teenager, he started playing cricket with tennis balls, as a medium pacer, and later, he became a wicket-keeper when he started playing with leather balls.
