1.) What do you understand by the expression’ Unity in diversity’?
Answer: India is a country with vast cultural and traditional significance. It has several religions, sects and beliefs. But what makes everyone united is common link and uniting bonds. Despite differences in culture here people are united by certain common factor.
2.) Which aspect is Smith commenting on?
Answer: Smith is commenting on the uniqueness of India that sets it apart from the other regions of the world. India has distinct features that make it special. The bond of unity in social, intellectual and human development is common in every Indian.
3.) Pick out the factors that contribute to Unity in Diversity?
Answer:India’s art, literature, spiritual values, festivals, culture, its vast heritage are the key factors that contribute to Unity in Diversity.
5.) ‘Hindi is now understood and recognised as the national language of India’. Do you agree or disagree with the author? Give reasons.
Answer:Yes, I agree with the author that Hindi is recognized as the national language of India. No matter what state, in every state Hindi is found to be common in every region. And it is mostly understood by most of the people.
