Pollard was born in Tacarigua, Trinidad, and Tobago on 12 May 1987. He belonged to a poor family. Along with his two younger sisters, brought up by a single mother, Hazel-Ann Polland. He also likes football and has a great interest in it. He loves the Football Club Manchester United.

Professional life and Career synopsis of Kieron Pollard
Domestic Career –
In 2006 he was named to the West Indies squad for the 2007 World Cup, on the basis of his performances in the U-19 TCL group challenge held in 2005. In 2006 he played Under-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka. Then in July, he was called into the senior team of Trinidad and Tobago. Then he made his first-class debut 6 months later against Barbados. In a match, out of the 126 runs, he scored, 86 runs were off boundaries only and he exhibited his capabilities. In the 2009 Champions League match against New South Wales, he showcased his hard-hitting batting by playing for Trinidad and Tobago.
IPL –
He was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the 2010 IPL auction of which he is still an integral part. In his first season, he performed well but it was followed by mediocre seasons. In the 2013 season, he returned with a bang and helped his team to register its first title by scoring a total of 420 runs. In the 2014 session, during a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he made 78 runs off 48 deliveries. But in the last over he was dismissed by Irfan Pathan and eventually Mumbai Indians lost the match. Mumbai Indians register their first win of the season in the match against Punjab at Wankhede stadium, where Pollard scored 28 runs in 12 balls. Mumbai Indians won the 2015 season where Pollard, scoring 419 runs again became a prominent player. With 7 boundaries and 5 sixes, Pollard scored 70 runs off 48 deliveries against Rajasthan Royals but Mumbai Indians lost the match. In another match against Chennai, despite him scoring 64 runs off 34 balls and smashing 5 sixes, Mumbai Indians again lost the match. He joined Rayudu in a match against Delhi Daredevils and smashed a quick-fire 26 runs off 14 balls. Thereby ensuring victory. With 6 sixes he made 49 runs off 24 balls in the same week but still, the team was unable to chase the total mammoth of RCB. He played a patient knock with Hardik Pandya in a match against Kolkata and helped the team to reach 171. With a brilliant half-century, Yusuf Pathan led the KKR chase, and in the final over, 12 runs were required. On his very first ball, Pollard dismissed Pathan and in just 2 balls he conceded 6 runs, followed it by 3 dot balls thereby leading Mumbai to a crucial victory. Mumbai won their second IPL title by defeating Chennai and at a strike of 163 with 28 sixes, Pollard ended the tournament with 419 runs. The IPL 2019 season have not been his great one. In 2020, he completed his 11th consecutive year of Playing for Mumbai Indians and represented the franchise in 150 matches, being the first player to do so.
In the 2022 IPL auction, Pollard was picked up by the Mumbai Indians for a price of 6 crores INR.
International Career :
ODI –
In the 2007 World Cup, Pollard made his ODI debut against South Africa on 10 April. In 17 balls he scored 10 runs and didn’t pick a wicket. In 2012 he made his first century in international cricket against India in Chennai. In his effort to take West Indies from 5-78 to 233 he took the longest inning of his career by scoring 119 runs in 110 balls. In 2013 he made his second hundred against Australia in Sydney. Despite being a good performer at various clubs around the world, at the international level, his appearance remained limited. In order to play in various T20 leagues around the world, he turned down the contract by West Indies. Due to his dispute with the West Indies Cricket Board, he wasn’t the part of the 2015 World Cup held in Australia. In May 2019, he was named as one of the reserve players of the West Indies squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup by Cricket West Indies (CWI).
T20I –
On 20 June 2008, Pollard made his T20I debut against Australia. During a series against India, he scored 1000 runs and became the fourth player of West Indies to do so in T20I Cricket held in December 2019. On 4 March 2020, in the first T20I match against Sri Lanka he made a record of being the first cricketer to play in 500 T20 matches. In that format, he scored his 10000th run in the same match.
Controversies
He was once fined, during the ab IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, for throwing his bat at Mitchell Starc.
While he was batting in an IPL match against RCB, he was disturbing Chris Gayle when the umpire asked him to keep quiet. Pollard put tape on his mouth.
