A SHOP CAUGHT FIRE

Alipurduar, January 9,2023: A devastating fire broke out in a three-storey garment shop near Borobazar, Alipurduar yesterday at 5 p.m. The fire stared at ground floor and gradually spread throughout the whole building. Three people failed to escape in spite of their best efforts and got killed and several were injured and admitted to the district hospital. Property worth lakhs of rupees has been gutted. The actual cause of this disaster is said to be due to electrical short-circuit. The fire was extinguished after two hours of continuous efforts made by the Fire Brigade. The honourable MLA visited the spot and expressed grief and sorrow in this incident.
