1.) What is rotation? How much time does earth take in completing one rotation?
Answer: Rotation -The earth is continuously moving on its own axis and the motion of the Earth is called Rotation.
The eart takes 24hours or one day to move on its own axis or complete one rotation.
2.) What is meant by the revolution of the earth?
Answer: Revolution- The earth has its own orbit around the sun. Along with its own rotation Earth is also moving around the sun and it takes 365 1/4 days to complete it. It is called revolution.
3.) What is a leap year?
Answer: Leap year- The Earth takes exactly 365 days 6hours to complete it’s one rotation around the Sun . But we take only 365 days or one year for our own convenience. After every four years these 6hours are added with the respective days. (6×4=24) hours or one day is added with the days of the month of February as an extra one. In that year February carries 29 days and the whole year counts 366 days. This special year is called leap year and it occurs after every four years.
4.) What is an equinox? Which seasons are indicated by it in both the hemispheres?
Answer: Equinox- When the sun gives direct rays over the Equator on 23rd September and both the hemisphere experience equal day and night along with equal amount of heat is called Equinox.
In northern hemisphere it indicates Autumn and in southern hemisphere it indicates Spring.

Answer: The duration of day and night change in a year because of the position of the Sun. As per the location of the sun and it’s distance from the different parts of Earth ,changes occur. Different parts of Earth can not receive same light and heat from the Sun at the same time.

Answer: Seasons are reversed between northern and southern hemisphere because it depends on the position of the Sun. According to the revolution of the Earth season on the earth changes and it differs beti northern and southern hemisphere.
