Anmolpreet was born on 28 March 1998 in Patiala, Punjab. His father’s name is Satvinder Singh. He is in the Punjab police and is also a handball coach. His mother Harjeet Singh is a homemaker. Professional life/ Career synopsis
His father enrolled him in a cricket club at the age of 5 due to his keen interest in cricket. Anmolpreet made his T20 debut in 2015 against Odisha. He was the captain of Punjab’s under-19 team in the Coochbehar trophy and in just 9 matches, he made a score 1154 runs. For his brilliant performance, he got the opportunity to be a part of the Indian squad for the U-19 Cricket World Cup in 2016. He contributed by scoring a half-century against Sri Lanka in the semis. He has only played two matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament held in 2014-15. As a replacement for Yuvraj Singh, he got the opportunity to perform in the Ranji trophy of 2017-18. Even under such tremendous pressure, he managed to score fifty runs on his debut. In his third first-class match against Chhattisgarh, he made a score 267 runs and in the whole tournament in just 5 matches, he scored a total of 753 runs. Anmolpreet’s excellent performances caught the attention of selectors across the country and he became a part of the Duleep Trophy team. After the Duleep Trophy, he was named for India Blue in the same year. He then got in India A squad in the 2018-19 Deodhar trophy. He was then selected for India A’s tour of New Zealand for his outstanding and consistent performances.
In the 2018 IPL auction, he was bought for 80 lakhs INR by the Mumbai Indians. In 2019, once again his name was selected for India Blue for Duleep Trophy, and got the opportunity to be in the India C squad for the 2019-20 Deodhar Trophy. He made only 16 runs in his IPL debut against Chennai super kings in 2019. In the 2022 IPL auction, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians for INR 20 lakhs.
