Survey Data and Development of EMRS

The establishment of Eklavya model residential schools idea was launched in the year 1997-1998 to make sure our 8.6% of population belonging to ST category receive quality education.

The exact problem arose when a lot of dropouts were observed for the ST students , that is, 35.6% for classes 1st to 5th, 55% for classes 1st to 8th and 70.9% for classes 1st to 10th. This is the data of 2010-2011 which reflects the education levels of this society. A strong action was needed to curb this issue and so EMRS were proposed.

Although, this set of category makes up a lot in the workforce, their education level is not upto the regular sections of our society, and thus for improvement of our own country, this program came in existence.
