Q1. What do you understand by the term tissue?
Ans- Tissue is a layer which contains many cells or group of cells which has different functions and different structures in different parts of the body.
Q2. What is specific function of cardiac muscle?
Ans- The specific function of cardiac muscle is that it has intercalated disks. Presence of intercalated disks makes the cardiac muscle more specific i.e it has specific characteristic.
Q3. Differentiate between striated, non-striated muscles on the basis of their shape and location in the body.
Striated muscle | Non-striated muscle |
Muscles which show alternate light and dark bands or striations are called as striated muscles. | Muscles which control the movement i.e contraction and relaxation is called as nonstriated muscles. |
These muscles are mostly attached to bones which help in movement. | These muscles are found in Iris of eye, in uterus and in bronchi of lungs. |
The cells of these tissue are long cylindrical, unbranched and are multinucleated. | The cells of these tissue are long with pointed ends and are uninucleated. |
Q4. Name the following:-
1.) Tissue that forms the inner lining of mouth – Epithelial tissue.
2.) Tissue that connects muscle to none in humans – Tendon connective tissue.
3.) Tissue that transports food in animals –
4.) Tissue that stores fat in our body – Adipose tissue
5.) Connective tissue present in the brain – Nervous tissue.
Q5. Identify the types of tissue in the following:-
- Skin- It is a type of epithelial tissue.
- Bone- It is a type of connective tissue.
- Lining of kidney tubule- It is type of cuboidal epithelial tissue.
Q7. Why the blood is called connective tissue?
Ans- Blood is the red stream which flows to the closed vessel in the body. Blood is the source by which the illness and wellness of the body is determined. By blood we can know most of the things which are in the body. It has many important roles and the flow of blood is connected to one body part to the other. Hence blood is called as connective tissue.
Q8. What happens , if platelets are not present in blood?
Ans- Platelets are the separate group in blood which are very important to the body. If these platelets are not present in blood the body suffers from disease. Platelets help in control of excess flow of blood. If any injury or wound is there then platelet helps to clot the blood and stop flow of blood.
Q9. Draw three types of muscle fibers.
Q10. Write procedure to identify your blood group with the help of kit.
Ans- The following procedure is followed to identify our blood group:
• Take the porcelain plate and neatly clean it and dry it so that no reaction occurs.
• Take a wax pencil and draw three circles to divide into three parts on the plate.
• Take on drop of corresponding antiserum which is about room temperature and place at the edge of circle but it should be within the circle.
• Take your any finger and rub alcohol containing cotton ball.
• Press the bottom of the same finger and slowly prick with the pricking needle which is sterile.
• Quickly let the blood drop into the circle without touching the anti serum.
• After putting 3 drops press the wound with cotton ball to stop blood flow.
• Using a toothpick mix gentle the blood and antisera and stir gently. Do it for each circle using different toothpick for each circle.
• Observe the agglutination. The agglutination appear as grainy clumps of red blood cells suspended in a clear solution.
Q12. Draw a neat labelled diagram of neuron.
Q13. Ramu felt weak ramu’s father took him to hospital.
The doctor advised him a blood test. The report says that he don’t have required levels of haemoglobin. What are its ill effects?
Ans- Haemoglobin is very important in the blood. Due to presence of required levels of haemoglobin person stays very healthy. If there is no haemoglobin level which is required to the body person will be very weak. The weakness leads to fever. It means the person is unhealthy and always has weakness he don’t have the energy required to do any work.
