Telangana SCERT Solution Class IX (9) Math Chapter 9 Statistics Exercise 9.2
(7) From the given distribution table
Mean saving in Mondal Amberpet = 2154/6 ((Total saving)/(no of schools))
= 359
Mean saving in Mandal Thirumalgiri = 2478/6
= 413
Mean saving in Mandal Saidabad = 975/5
= 195
Mean saving in Mandal Khairathabad = 912/4
= 228
Mean saving in Mandal Secundarabad = 600/3
= 200
Mean saving in Mandal Bahadarpura = 7533/9
= 837
Arithmetic mean of saving of all school
= (sum of savings of all school)/(Total No of schools)
= (2154+2478+975+912+600+7533)/(6+6+5+4+3+9)
= 14652/33
= 444
∴ Men saving per school = 444
(9) Given,
Mean weight of 3 students = 40 kg
Ranga weighs 46 kgs
Rahim & Reshma weigh the same
Let, Rehim’s and Reshmas weight be x
Mean = (sum of weights of 3 students)/(Total no of students)
Or, 40 = (46+x+x)/3
Or, 2x + 46 = 120
Or, x = (120-46)/2
= 74/2
= 37 kgs
Rahim’s weight is 37 kgs.
