1.) Narahari created the following list of activities where technology is not used. Do you agree with him? Give reasons for your answer. a) While singing a song b) While cooking idli c) While performing drama on the stage d) While making garland for sale
Answer
I disagree with the above statement stated by Narahari as technology has evolved so much that it’s a part of our daily life. Technology is just like oxygen in this advance generation of human kind as it helps with the activities mentioned above either directly or indirectly. For example- Singed song can be edit by technology invention, while performing drama modern technology is used to make the play audible.
2.) Describe how the situation of labour has changed in powerlooms and mills. Do you think this change is beneficial to the labourers or to the owner? Give reasons for your answer.
Answer
A Mill or Factory may have hundreds of looms in a large space, it is a factory complex employing tens and hundreds of workers in different sections and when such mass of people are employed they form unions to fight for their rights and their better conditions. They receive a fixed amount of salary every month and other benefits.
Powerlooms are small units consisting of a small number of workers who are paid on piece rate basis that means if there is any powercut, power loom workers are not given salaries and they don’t receive any benefit like the mill workers.
In the mill the labours get benefited because they can protect their rights and get paid monthly whereas in the powerlooms the owner benefit because they don’t have to pay any fixed salary or any benefits to the labour .

Yes I agree that changes in technology lead to changes in job opportunities because change in technology gave growth to new business which gave new employment opportunity to human. For example Mobile companies were started who export these phones to many countries which created new job opportunity in different countries.
5.) Prabavathi feels that it is true that telephone technology has changed. She feels that new jobs are available only to educated persons. She also says that many people in India are not literate and hence modern technology is always biased to the educated. Do you agree with her? Give your reasons.
Answer
I don’t agree with the above statement because technology can be used by everyone education doesn’t matter as long as you can learn the skill of using it for example we can see everyone in the society has a mobile phone be it a businessman, a driver, a farmer. So you need to learn the basic skill of using a technology we can see people with a minimum educational qualification are working as mechanics and technicians.
