2.) Describe the activities of the Andhra MahaSabha for the promotion of education.
Answer-
Andhra MahaSabha promoted education by activities like :
- Making primary education compulsory for everyone.
- Night classes and discussions were held in these centre.
- Established libraries and cultural centres all over Telangana even in remote villages.
- They helped the labour class with reading & writing and also update them with the current news/policy.
3.) What were the demands of the Hyderabad State Congress and how many of them were fulfilled after 1948?
Answer-
The demands of the Hyderabad State Congress were:
- Fundamental rights should be granted to the people.
- Restrictions made on the freedom of speech, religion, press, etc should be removed immediately.
- Laws should be prepared by the elected representative rather than by the Nizam.
All of the demand were fulfilled by 1948.
4.) Do you think that the Telangana Armed struggle helped to end the rule of the Nizam? Give your reasons.
Answer-
Yes the Telangana Armed struggle helped to end the rule of the Nizam because of the following reasons
- They fought for the rights of the poor peasant and lower cast people who were supressed by the Nizam.
- They established libraries, night schools and tried to make the people literate.
- They undertook many revolutionary activitie like fought against the Nizam and the Doras and alsoestablished armed forces
- They went from village to village and made the people conscious and tried to abolish Vetti.
5.) Read the paragraphs under the heading ‘Feudal System of the State’ and answer the following: Do you support the Feudal system of the Nizams? Why?
Answer-
No i don’t support the Feudal system of the Nizams because there system looted the peasant and lower caste people and they treated them as slaves. They didn’t care about the common people.
6.) Many movements were led against the rulers in the past. Do you find any movements taken up nowadays? If yes, what are they?
Answer-
Yes movements are still taken up nowadays like
- Movements to protect the environment, which includes the Narmada Bachao Andolan.
- Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao movement to educate girls .
- In 2011, movements against corruption.
- In July 2011, the textile business people fought against ‘Vat’ and they led a strike
7.) What questions would you ask the librarian to know about the library of your area?
Answer-
The question are:
- How many books are there in the library?
- Are then any books in Tamil literature?
- Are there any books which has all the map of our state?
- Are there any books on our leaders who fought nizams?
- Are there any books based on Partition of India?
- Is there any book on the history of India?
- What kinds of magazines are there in the library?
