(1.) Make a list of activities done by the District Collector.

Ans. There are many activities done by district collector like.

i) Meeting with senior employees of the organization and asks the head of each department about the progress of the work during the previous month, also asks them about problems they face in the work.

ii) He / she meets district people from all the villages. Come to meet her / him with their problems.

iii) Irrigation, tank fund.

iv) Stand by the side of the people in the event of a disaster : announcing compensation.

v) She / he should developing the city.

(2.) Correct the following statements :

(a.) Law is implemented by the elected representatives.

ans. Law is implemented by the executive officers.

(b.) The Collector is in charge of a Mandal.

Ans. Collector is incharge of a district.

(c.) People approach the Mandal Development Officer to solve the problems of the entire district.

Ans. People approach collector to solve the problems of entire district.

(d.) Tahsildar keeps the record of land revenue.

Ans. The revenue officers keeps the record of land revenue.

(3.) Read the first two paragaphs of (page 160) Tahsildar and Village Revenue officers and answer the question given below.

Why do you think are the land records kept at village and mandal levels?

Ans. i) Land records carry the identity of citizenship.

ii) We can know the range of own land.

iii) It is known how much grain has been cultivated across the region.

iv) Neighbours or any other person will not be able to occupy the land unnecessarily if there is land record.

v) If there is land record, it is possible to separate the government land from ones own land.
