(1) How is the transport system essential for producing agricultural goods? Illustrate with examples.

Ans: – Transport system is very essential for producing agricultural goods. Farmers are all take their produce to the trader by transport. For an example we choose. Cotton – Cotton produced by farmer’s moves from fields to factories. Since there are different process through which cloth is produced, It has to move from one place to another until the finished product is made. Markets are thus dependent on transport facilities.

(2) How is the use of buses different from trains?

Ans: – Bus and train both have important roles in transportation.

(i) The size of the train is larger than the bus so the capacity of passenger transport is much higher than the train.

(ii) The facilities for transporting train goods are plentiful like coal, fertilisers, cement, food grains etc.

(3) Why is it important to provide transport facilities to village?

Ans: -It is important to provide transport facilities to villages because.

(i) Transportation is needed for the people in the rural areas to enjoy the facilities in the urban areas easily.

(ii) Transport needs to buy various materials from urban areas for farming.

(iii) The village roads are made of mud which makes it difficult to move. Students need transportation to go to school.

(iv) Transport required to transport the produced crop to the market at the right time.

 (5) How does the transport system become a means of livelihood?

Ans: – Many ways of earnings have been prepared centering on the transport system. By making these livelihoods, man meets his daily necessities of life. Like petrol/diesel pump station, reparing shops, shops selling transport vehicles spare parts.

(6) What will happen if there is a rise in transport cost for goods made in factories? Illustrate with an example.

Ans: – If there is a rise in transport cost for goods made in factories, the price of manufactured goods will increase. Although it will benefit the transport worker it will be little inconvenient for the common people.

(8) Congestion and traffic blocks occur due to the use of vehicles in a big way. What measures do you suggest to prevent this?

Ans: – Traffic blocks are a daily occurrence in today’s daily life. We have to follow some rules to reduce this block –

(i) Walking to cover short distance.

(ii) To complete everyone work with one car without using two or three cars in a family.

(iii) No more unnecessary use of vehicles.
