Speech on Indian Politics
INTRODUCTION
Respected Principal Sir/Madam, teachers and dear fellow students. Before this beautiful day I have been given a lucky chance to address the future of our world. In my full effort and power I intend to say a few words regarding my topic- “Indian Politics”.
BODY
India is the largest democracy on the planet, and it harbors the most complex and competitive elections on the planet with over 100 of small electoral parties running for seats in different regions and a select few national level parties competing. The second most populous nation on the planet. No country can be overall perfect in its operations and internal differences remain whatever we try. What appeals to me most about this electoral system is its politics. The politics in India is very complex, as I’ve mentioned the existence of various national and regional parties running for seats; the tactics and campaigning are very interesting to study. Politics in any country works under the guidance of its constitution. President of India is the head of state and The Prime Minister of India is the head of government. The constitution gives the powers and privileges to everyone in this country that includes the parties and states and also district level. The constitution also oversees the powers and limits of government and non-government bodies. Constitution supervises the rule of law and justice. Constitution is not a person but a very powerful book of words, words that are the lifeline of a nation and its people. Constitution is our guardian without whom the pillars of any democratic nation would surely collapse. Like any democraticnation India has two legislative houses namely, upper house (RajyaSabha or council of states) and lower house (LokSabha or house of people). India also has an independent judiciary which is headed by Supreme Court. If we talk about the political parties of India, majority of them are headed by dynastic families, and the successor is often the son or daughter of these heads. In recent times this family politics topic was the head of all debates in the country and it rises as the elections come closer each year. Political parties seek each and every chance to pull down the chances of the opposition winning. Politics in India and political parties are very intricate matter, every now and then many social and economic topics are discussed in debates all around the nation, and political leaders take part in them and present their side of the solution to these problems. Each party releases manifesto, a pamphlet that gives a glimpse of change given if the people decide to vote them to power. There are also some downsides to politics and very obvious ones. India has faced many times the pangs of political corruption and it has robbed our country of valuable assets, equities and time. India is a very powerful and beautiful nation full of complex systems and a hidden potential for limitless growth.
CONCLUSION
I intend for all of you to support in the making of a great nation. Our minds and words can change everything, with changing times and generation we wouldn’t be wrong if tomorrow we might find a very young political leader in every corner of India, I bet that will be a very powerful and life changing sight. Thank you all for listening with such patient sense. Jai Hind!
