Soil Types

The type of soil is depend on the size of soil particle .The rocks gets disintegrated and forms particals which is responsible for the production of type of soil . Sometimes rocks crumbled and form large particles or fine particles .The different type of soil has the different characteristics .The types of soil are as follows ,

a) Sandy soil :

The sandy soil is light weighted soil .It is dry in texture .The sandy soil contain high proportion of large rock particles .The sandy soil don’t have water holding capacity as the large rocks particles are not able to fixed combine.It is low in nutrients .Sandy soil is not good for growing crops and plants .

b) Clayey soil :

The clayey soil is heavy in weight .It is wet in texture.The clayey soil contain fine particles of rocks .The clayey soil have great water holding capacity as the soil particles are very small and able to fixed with each other.It is high in nutrients . Clayey soil is good for agriculture.

c) Loamy soil :

The loamy soil is the mixture of sandy soil and clayey soil .It is very high in nutrients .It has good water holding capacity as the combination of sandy soil and clayey soil balance the water .It is wet in winter and dry in summer .It is used for gardening as it gives good yeild.
