Matter : Selina Concise Class 6 Chemistry Inside Question Answer
Selina Concise Chemistry Class 6 Inside Based Question Paper with All Answer. Now of days for ICSE Class 6 Students, it is not enough to Learn only Exercise Questions Answers. As because most of the time Examiners will give Inside Question Answer from that respective Chapter. So Here in this page Our Experts provided All Selina Concise Class 6 Chemistry Inside Questions & Answers – Matter Extra Questions.
(1.) WHAT IS MATTER? HOW MANY MAINTYPES OF MATTER?
ANS:- Any thing that has mass and occupies space is called matter.
The two main types of matter that’s are- i)living matter. Ii) Non living matter.
(2.) WHAT IS MOLECULE?
ANS:- molecule is the smallest unit of matter which exhibits all the properties of that kind of matter and is capable of independent existence. Example- A molecule of oxygen is made up of two atoms of oxygen.
(3.) WRITE TWO CHARACTERISTICS OF MOLECULES OF MATTER.
ANS:- The two characteristics of molecules of a matter-
a) Particles of matter are always in random motion because they posses kinetic energy. It increases with increase in temperature and vice versa.
b) Particles of matter are held together by a force of attraction that exists between them. This force is known as intermolecular force of attraction. The force of attraction between particles of the same substance is known as ‘ Cohesion’. The force of attraction is differen for different kinds of particles.
(4.) WHAT IS INTERMOLECULAR FORCE?
ANS:- Particles of matter have space between them that is called intermolecular force.
(5.) HOW YOU SHOW THAT THERE ARE INTERMOLECULAR GAPS IN WATER.
ANS:- At first we take half glass of water. Add one teaspoon of sugar to it and stir. The sugar disappears but level of water in the glass does not rise. It means the volume of water did not increase. The sugar particles are adjusted between the water molecules. This shows that there are intermolecular gaps in water.
(6.) HOW MANY STATES OF MATTER HAS? WRITE SOME PROPERTIES OF LIQUIDS.
ANS:- There are three different states of matter has. That’s are- Solid state, Liquid state, Gaseous state.
(7.) WHAT IS BROWNIAN MOVEMENT? DEFINE DIFFUSION.
ANS:- The zig zag motion of particles suspended in a medium is called Brownian motion.
The phenomenon of intermixing of particles of one kind with another kind is called Diffusion.
(8.) WHAT IS MISCIBLE LIQUIDS?
ANS:- Liquids diffuse slowly than gases. But all liquids do not intermix with one another. Liquids which mix with each other are called miscible liquids.
(9.) WHAT IS IMMISCIBLE LIQUIDS.
ANS:- Liquids which do no mix with each other are called immiscible liquids.
(10.) WHY WET INK BECOMES DRY?
ANS:- Wet ink becomes dry because water in it turns into vapour and evaporated into air.
(11.) define- FREEZING POINT, CONDENSATION POINT.
ANS:- FREEZING POINT:- The temperature at which a liquid starts changing into its solid state is called its freezing point.
CONDENSATION POINT:- It is the temperature at which a gas starts changing into its liquid state is called condensation point. Condensation point of steam is 100 degree celcius.
